Learning Authentic Computer Science While Making!

CS Makers is a middle school Computer Science course being developed by an NSF INCLUDES partnership led by Tuskegee University. The course is designed to encourage all students to learn real Computer Science. For this, CS Makers makes use of makerspaces in schools where students gather for experiential learning of Computer Science topics. The course was developed from scratch during the 2017-2018 school year and introduced in 2018-2019 in 4 pilot schools of  Greater Alabama Black Belt region initially. It is now offered widely in Alabama through generous support of the Alabama State Department of Education.
